Justine McLucas
Justine McLucas is a well-known name in the world of pole dance, having dedicated much of her life to the art form. She started pole in 2007 and has been teaching since 2008.
Justine trained at the Hamburg Ballet, before entering a career in finance for a number of years, eventually finding her way back to the stage, going on to perform on London’s West End in cabaret shows as a pole artist, dancer and burlesque performer. She has been nominated for Instructor of the Year at IPC 3 times, performed in the prestigious X Pole ‘Gravity’ show in Mexico, The Pole Convention ‘Showcase of the Stars’ in West Miami, USA as well as X Pole Australia’s “Pole Reflections,” and starred in music videos. She is a regular judge of Miss Pole Dance, IPC and other competitions nationally and internationally. Among her titles is tying first place on points at Miss Pole Dance UK 2011 + Best Entertainer, as well as World Pole Sport & Fitness Semi-Finalist, Budapest, 2011. She has been an X Pole ambassador since 2009, representing the team at exhibitions including Be Fit, Move It London and The Clothes Show Birmingham.
Justine opened one of the first stand-alone pole studios in London in 2010, Ecole de Pole, which has grown into a multi-faceted pole industry brand offering accredited instructor training, licensing opportunities, with two studios currently in Ohio, USA and her world-renowned pole retreats! The Phuket Pole Retreats and Gold Coast Camps combine cultural and holiday fun with pole workshops in amazing locations, top international pole instructors; a chance to meet polers from around the world and enjoy a unique and unforgettable experience!
Justine’s dedication to pole dancing and our community has earned her a solid reputation in the industry; she was awarded MPDQ Industry Person of the Year 2017. She has been promoting and advocating for pole dance in the media since 2011 with appearances on Fitness TV, the Alan Titchmarsh Show, numerous podcasts and interviews. She made it to the top 34 on UK’s Got To Dance in 2012 bringing her signature lyrical pole style to the mainstream and inspiring a whole new generation to take up pole.
She continues to inspire and motivate students and instructors to keep learning, growing and achieving their goals, both on and off the pole; mentoring and partnering with aspiring pole business owners to make pole a sustainable lifestyle, industry and career path beyond training and competitions, into their 40s, 50s and upwards!
